Our vision
A Vision for Cultural and Environmental Stewardship
We envision a world where tribal communities thrive autonomously, preserving their cultures while stewarding the environment. By prioritizing ecological protection and land stewardship, we address the urgent need to protect indigenous lands and cultural sites, while preserving the cultural autonomy of tribal communities. For instance, anthropologist Martin Von Hildebrand’s work in Colombia has shown that securing land rights enables indigenous communities to protect both biodiversity and cultural heritage, taking on stewardship roles over vast lands.
Additionally, we draw inspiration from the Kogi people’s vision of cosmic interconnectedness, as portrayed in the film Aluna. The Kogi see nature as a balanced system and advocate for protecting sacred sites to maintain harmony within the natural world. Through collaboration, we aim to amplify these perspectives and share insights on how protecting nature aligns with cultural preservation.
